On December 9, 2022 the DEL 2 Team Krefeld Pinguine organized a Hockey is Diversity Game Day in honour of the International Human Rights Day which is celebrated around the World on December 10th.

Our partner the Pinguine Supporters e.V. donated 60 tickets. With the 60 Tickets Hockey is Diversity invited U13 players from the Skating Bears, U15 players from JFC Alsdorf, former National team player Marion Vandeweerd-Kohl , Miriam Thimm, players from the DFEL EC Bergkamen and many more. Every child received a Penguins scarve. Former players Maurice Kamp and Emanuel Beckford gave a short introduction to the game for the kids who for the first time attended a hockey game.

The ceremonial puck drop was performed by NHL Coaches‘ Association Hockey is Diversity delegate and EC Bergkamen Head Coach Miriam Thimm, Jim Tenberg (Skating Bears) and Obama Kamewe (JFC Alsdorf).
The Pinguine Supporters – Ines Krebs and Frank Dufeu presented HiD Founder and CEO Dr. Martin Hyun and his colleagues Miriam Thimm, Maurice Kamp and Emanuel Beckford with a cheque in the amount of 1.000 Euro.

„I have been very moved by the generosity of the Pinguine Supporters. The donation will be invested in our 13 projects to continue fighting for a more inclusivity and diversity in hockey“ said CEO Dr. Martin Hyun.
