Interview Julian van Lijden
Julian van Lijden was born in Bogotá, Colombia and raised in the Netherlands. Although temptations to play soccer existed Julian chose hockey. His hockey path led him to play in Germany, Austria and USA for the youth teams in Krefeld,
Eisbären Juniors Berlin, EC Red Bull Salzburg, Topeka Roadrunners and Bietigheim before turning pro.
Julian is the owner of JVLFitness which is based in Berlin. Last season Julian played for the FASS Berlin team compiling 27 points in 17 games.
We sat down with Julian to discuss his start in hockey, role model, racism, growing the game and San Jose Sharks Evander Kane’s Hockey Diversity Alliance.
